Hampshire Smart Home Project – Full Design, Integration & Delivery
Large-scale smart home projects only succeed when every discipline works together from the very beginning. This Hampshire-based luxury property is a perfect example of what can be achieved when design, technology, and delivery are aligned from day one.
Referred to us by an existing client, Lexa Group were brought into the project at an early stage to design, manage, and deliver the complete electrical and smart home infrastructure. Working closely with the wider design team, our role was to create a fully integrated ecosystem where every system works seamlessly as one.
Early Involvement & Integrated Design
From the outset, this project was approached as a fully integrated smart home rather than a collection of separate systems. Early collaboration allowed us to coordinate infrastructure, control systems, lighting design, and equipment locations before construction progressed, ensuring clean installations and a cohesive end result.
Our scope covered the full technical design, system integration, and on-site delivery across the entire property.
Electrical, Lighting & Control
The electrical installation was extensive, incorporating both high-power and low-power systems throughout the home.
A fully integrated smart lighting system was installed, comprising almost 190 individually controlled lighting circuits. Feature lighting was carefully designed and deployed across the main living spaces, orangery, gym, cinema, and external areas.
Lighting and system control is delivered via custom keypads throughout the property, supported by multiple 10-inch touchscreens. From these interfaces, the client can manage lighting scenes, security, gates, climate control, audio, and more — all from a single, intuitive platform.
Networking & Communications Infrastructure
A robust networking backbone underpins every smart home system. This property features a professionally designed wired and wireless network, delivering reliable, high-performance connectivity across the entire estate.
The network includes a dual-WAN configuration, providing resilience and uptime. Whole-property Wi-Fi coverage was engineered to support high device density and demanding applications.
Video distribution was also integrated, with multiple television sources feeding up to eight display locations, alongside a gate intercom system fully integrated into the smart home platform for seamless access control.
Security & Life Safety Systems
Security was designed as an integrated, intelligent system rather than a standalone add-on.
The property is protected by a Grade 3 intruder alarm, fully integrated into the smart home platform. A commercial-grade fire alert system was also installed, enabling automated safety responses such as lighting activation in the event of an alarm.
CCTV is delivered via an AI-driven surveillance system, capable of person detection, tracking, behavioural alerts, and automated lighting responses. Facial recognition access control was implemented for the master suite, providing alerts when unrecognised individuals are detected.
Heating, Cooling & Environmental Control
Environmental control across the property was fully integrated into the smart home system.
Mechanical ventilation, heating, air conditioning, and an air-source heat pump were all brought into the central control platform, alongside a comprehensive multi-zone heating control system.
This allows room-by-room temperature and climate control directly from touchscreens or mobile devices, providing comfort, efficiency, and ease of use throughout the home.
Audio, Video & Entertainment
Entertainment systems were designed to deliver a premium experience without compromising aesthetics.
A whole-home multi-room audio system was installed using discreet in-ceiling speakers throughout the property. The orangery features a 100-inch display, supported by a full bar-area sound system for entertaining.
The centrepiece of the project is a bespoke 8K Dolby Atmos cinema, fully designed and delivered in-house. The cinema features:
-
9.4.4 speaker configuration
-
Acoustic fabric wall system
-
Feature LED lighting
-
Integrated advertising and visual display screen
Every element of the cinema — from acoustic treatment to lighting control — was engineered to deliver a true cinematic experience.
Additional Features & Future Expansion
Additional installations include a smart-controlled gym with integrated LED lighting, with further enhancements planned. External works include feature lighting and an outdoor television zone, with a future outbuilding already designed to receive full smart lighting and system integration.
A dedicated plant room was designed and built in-house to support the extensive technical infrastructure, ensuring long-term serviceability and reliability.
Project Management & Delivery
With the exception of plumbing, every discipline on this project was managed directly by Lexa Group. This included client liaison, coordination with the design team, technical integration strategy, and on-site delivery.
By maintaining full oversight, we ensured that all systems work flawlessly together as a single, unified platform.
In Summary
This Hampshire project represents a flagship-level smart home installation — a fully integrated environment combining lighting, security, networking, environmental control, audio/video distribution, and a high-end cinema.
Or, put simply:
A serious investment.
A fully integrated home.
A house where everything just works — beautifully.
